Acne is a skin problem that results from a blockage in the hair follicles on the surface of the skin that contains sebum and dead skin cells. Usually acne will appear in areas that have a lot of oil glands, such as face, neck, back, chest, shoulders, and shoulders.
Causes of Acne on the Lips
Oil glands will naturally produce sebum or skin's natural oils that are useful for lubricating hair and skin. However, if excessive, sebum and dead skin cells can accumulate in the hair follicles and clog them. Skin conditions like this become an ideal place for bacterial growth. When this happens, there will be inflammation that eventually causes acne. Besides acne, there are also skin problems that are prone to appear around the lips, namely herpes simplex virus infection. This disease is characterized by bumps or blisters on the lips which generally appear in groups on a surface area of the skin. If you look at it at a glance, this lump may look similar to a collection of zits. The Difference between Acne and Herpes Simplex
What distinguishes the two is that acne can appear in other areas of the body, while herpes simplex tends to appear in only one area. Herpes simplex generally appears in the mouth or pubic area. Besides its location, there are several other factors that distinguish between acne and herpes, namely:- Herpes tends to feel itchy and sore throughout, while acne usually feels pain only when touched or squeezed.
- Herpes looks like blistered skin and contains clear fluid, while pimples appear as lumps containing blackheads or pus.
- Lenting herpes always appears in groups. This is different from acne that grows at one or only a few points.
- Herpes simplex can spread to other people, whereas acne does not.
